‘Fiordland 2.0’ Documentary Launch

Mark Jones’s outdoor experience is both extensive and well published documenting a lifetime of exchanges with the sea, the mountains, rivers, or the New Zealand bush. As part of the Adventure Philosophy team Mark undertook a number of world-first sea kayaking expeditions including first traverse of the Antarctic Peninsula and first circumnavigation of the South Atlantic’s South Georgia Island. These days he is more likely to be found sharing the outdoors with his family, friends or students, but continues to put aside time for his own committing adventure journeys.

Marks first foray into filmmaking was documenting his 3week solo traverse of the Urewera ranges and the Whirinaki forest in 2013 living entirely off the land, Salt and Pepper Hikoi. This was followed by One in the Wilderness a 50minute documentary of his South to North solo traverse of Fiordland in 2021- both are on YouTube.
