Bioluminescence is a captivating natural reaction that produces light within an organism’s body. Bioluminescent plankton light up the evening, creating a dazzling display of natural wonder.
Meet your local guide, get kitted out with all the gear you need, and launch your kayak as the sun goes down. Your small group, with one guide for every six guests, then paddles out into the evening to find the glow.
Over two relaxed hours, watch the water light up around your kayak as you glide under the stars.
Bioluminescence is a natural event and can never be guaranteed, but we plan every trip around the best conditions and it’s very rare not to see at least one type. If you don’t see any on your tour, as confirmed by your guide on the night, we’ll give you a free repeat tour.
Moonlight affects this tour and how brightly you will see bioluminescence. When the moon is brighter, the glow can be more subtle, but still visible. We recommend booking near a new moon or on nights with later moonrise for the best effect. Pick a date below to see how much moonlight there will be during your tour. In November–April, the glow is often strong enough to enjoy on most nights. These popular dates do fill fast, so booking ahead is a good idea.
